Over the last 10 years, Ameya Talwalkar has built strong engineering teams specializing in enterprise and consumer security in Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, Madrid, Pune, and Chengdu. Before co-founding Cequence Security, he was Director of Engineering at Symantec, where he was responsible for its anti-malware software stack that leverages network Intrusion prevention and behavior and reputation technologies, and anti-virus engines. Under his leadership, Symantec developed an advanced version of network intrusion prevention technology that blocks more than two billion threats a year. Ameya holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the University of Mumbai’s Sardar Patel College of Engineering (SPCE).

Shreyans Mehta is an innovator in network security and holds several patents in the field. Before co-founding Cequence Security, he was Architect and Technical Director at Symantec, where he led the development of one of the most advanced network security platforms and intrusion prevention technologies based on real-time packet inspection and cloud-based big data analytics. It’s responsible for detecting more than half of the billions of threats that Symantec identifies every year. Shreyans has a Masters in Computer Science from the University of Southern California.

Mark Azad is the CRO at Cequence Security. Most recently Mark served as CRO at Sigma Computing (“Sigma”), the cloud analytics and business intelligence (BI) innovator. Prior to Sigma, Mark was vice president of sales for the Americas at Kubernetes platform provider D2iQ. Prior to D2iQ, he served as the director of sales at the NoSQL cloud database Couchbase and a technology sales manager at Oracle. Mark excels at partnering with customers of all sizes, from SMBs to Fortune 100, negotiating and managing contracts and agreements. He specializes in leading large, distributed sales teams, including field and inside sales, as well as direct and channel sales. Throughout his career in Silicon Valley, Mark has established organizational structure, improved processes, and increased revenue.

Before that, he was at Symantec where he led a team of 50+ marketers responsible for Global Demand, PMO and Strategic Marketing for the $2.4B Enterprise Business. Varun has held leadership positions in marketing, product management, and product development at both startups and large companies, and is on the advisory board of many startups. Both he and his work have been featured in major publications such as Daily Mail, Wall Street Journal, Huffington Post, MarketWatch, and USA Today. Varun has appeared in broadcast outlets such as NBC’s The Today Show, MSNBC, FOX, Kron4, ABC, and CBS. Varun has been a part of multiple successful exits - 8 out of 10 companies he has worked at were either acquired or went IPOs - Skycure (acquired by Symantec/Broadcom), IronPort Systems (acquired by Cisco), CipherTrust (acquired by Secure Computing/McAfee/Intel), ArcSight, which was acquired by HP after being the only company in the valley to go IPO in 2009. Varun earned his Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati, a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of California, Riverside and studied marketing at the University of California, Berkeley.

Subbu Iyer leads the product management team at Cequence Security, providing the interface between customers, data scientists, and engineering. He works closely with customers and internal users to define the product strategy and roadmap that keeps the Cequence products at the cutting edge of API security. Before joining Cequence Security, Subbu led product management teams at Oracle, Bluebox Security and Zscaler.

Before Cequence, Anil held leadership roles in sales, sales engineering and solutions architecture at F5. Prior to F5, he held senior engineering roles at Silicon Valley companies such as Swan Labs, Spirent, Caw Networks and Nexsi Systems. Anil holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda.

As VP of Engineering, Nikunj is responsible for ensuring that design requirements are met, overseeing the consistency of user experiences, and managing a team of talented engineers. Over 25 years’ experience as a software engineer, team leader and manager he has led teams that have designed and implemented software products in various domains ranging from Banking, Security, Complex Events Processing and Big Data. Prior to joining Cequence, Nikunj held senior engineering and management roles at companies such as MapR, Informatica, Tibco and Sun Microsystems. Nikunj holds a Bachelor of Technology degree from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay.
